How I got into Design

I’m Narges:

Design is just that: growth, transformation, and finding beauty in structure.

PS: It’s also my favorite flower.

It all began with curiosity!

Even as a child, I was the one sketching, taking things apart, and trying to understand how they worked. I loved exploring how things fit together and imagining ways to improve them. That curiosity planted the seeds for my future in design.

PS: I was a Rubik’s Cube champion and once built a Pikachu out of 100 cubes.

A foundation I could build on

My interest in problem-solving led me to study industrial design, where I learned how form and function shape people’s daily lives. I graduated as a top student in my Master’s program and ranked 13th in the National Design Olympiad, which gave me a strong foundation in design principles and confidence in my creative abilities.

PS: I had to make a snack board made of wood.

Then I discovered a new world

At first, I imagined my career would stay in the physical world. But the turning point came when I was asked to design a digital interface for a startup. That experience opened my eyes to the impact of digital design, how it can reach thousands of people instantly and shape their interactions in meaningful ways.

PS: This was my first attempt at designing an application. I didn’t even know it was called a ‘Wireframe’😃

Learning to bridge creativity and technology

Since then, I’ve led projects like developing interactive children’s books with AR applications, bridging creativity and technology. These experiences taught me how to translate imaginative ideas into practical, user-friendly digital experiences that delight users.

The transition wasn’t easy!

I had to unlearn old habits, master new tools like Figma, and face moments of doubt about whether I belonged in tech. It would have been simpler to stay in my comfort zone, but instead I leaned into the challenge, teaching myself digital design, experimenting with AR/VR, and eventually mentoring others.

Realizing the bigger picture

Working across startups, agencies, and cross-functional teams strengthened my ability to collaborate and deliver results under pressure. Leading workshops, facilitating co-creation sessions, and mentoring others became a natural extension of my work, ensuring solutions that are practical, user-centered, and impactful.

Narges specializes in transforming complex concepts into simple and intuitive experiences as your strategic partner and creative storyteller.

Looking back, it all makes sense

Looking back, my journey has always mirrored my name: like a flower, design starts small, takes patience, and grows into something meaningful when nurtured. What it taught me is that design is never about pixels or prototypes; it’s about people. And that principle continues to guide me in every project I take on.
